Helmingham Hall Festival of Classics 2007 Suffolk
A large turn out of over 600 interesting vehicles and the sun shone!
An early start for myself as I was booked to marshal vehicles into the event, which kept me busy from 08.30 to 12.30, and only one upset MGB owner!
The attraction for me at this event is the diversity, with some real rarities showing up, and of course the drive down the long tree lined drive and back.
On the down side though I get a little ‘glazed over’ with the ’50 odd’ almost identical modern sports car club that displays – perhaps I can convince the organisers to limit entries to pre 25 years and only 10 of the same model!
Here are some of the highlights for me:
1 A rarity – 1950’s Paramount 1½ Litre Tourer. I’ve only ever seen two others in 30 odd years!
2 1950’s Jaguar XK140 FHC – So sleek!
3 1930’s Austin Taxi in superb order.
4 MG A 1600 Mk 1 – Beautiful inside and out.
